Santa Claus Parade on November 12 1600hs
The following is information for those who have signed up to attend the optional Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade.
Cadets will be dropped off at Furby and Broadway by 4:00pm.
Participants will be met by an officer of 220 or 177 Squadrons where they will walk north-west to our parade entry’s starting point Sherbrook and Broadway (#111).
Cadets should have eaten a meal prior to arrival. No meal will be provided for participants.
Cadets may bring cameras for the event; however the squadrons DO NOT accept responsibility for lost or damaged property.
Cadets will ensure they are dressed in appropriate civilian clothing. They will be outdoors for approximately 4 hours (wear layers: fleece lining, hoodie, long-sleeve shirt, long johns, extra pair of socks, mitts, scarf and hiking shoes or runners with proper support and cushioning).
Cadets will wear Cadet-issue Gor-Tex parka or overcoat, toque or ball cap.
Cadets who do not have a Cadet-issue jacket will wear a dark-coloured jacket with the dark-blue cadet-issue T-shirt over-top (issued on-site).
Cadets who are not dressed appropriately for the weather will not be permitted to participate and will be sent home.
The 220/177 parade entry is at the end of the parade route; directly in front of the Winnipeg Jets float; thus we will be one of the last groups to disperse.
Cadets will be shuttled from the parade end-point at The Forks to the pick-up point at the Great-West Life parking lot at 7:30pm (west side of GWL building).
The theme for the parade is “Magic of the Season” IF cadets have any props/ clothing suiting the theme; they are welcome to include them in their dress (i.e. magic wand, cape, glow sticks, masks, light-up accessories, fairy wings, etc.).
Those who are able to help decorate the float, contact Capt Undiks at 204.981.7548.
The Prep Team is meeting at 1000 hs Saturday at 2100 Saskatchewan Dr (just east of Whytewold).
