UNIFORM STANDARDS BLITZ

Cadets of 220 Red River RCACS;

The cadets of 220 Red River Squadron are in for a spirited couple of months through March and
April. With the training year in the final trimester; preparations have begun for our Annual
Ceremonial Review (ACR) taking place on the evening of Monday, 4 June 2012.

A necessary part of Air Cadets and especially the ACR is to have uniforms meet standards set by
the Air Cadet Dress Instructions. For the month of March and April, 220 Red River Squadron Air
Cadets will take part in a "Uniform Standards Blitz Competition”. Details are as follows:
  •  Beginning Monday, 5 March, uniforms will be inspected and graded;
  •  Flight Commanders and Flight Sergeants of each flight, and WOI Rempel for parade positions and Flag Party, will inspect each uniform upon 6:30 pm fall in;
  •  A potential mark of 50 out of 50 will be achieved by meeting the standards of uniform set out in CATO 55-04 (http://throughlabourtovictory.com/documents/a.55-04_main.pdf);
  •  Cadets who are late to fall in on parade (without a valid reason) will be penalized 1 mark for each minute late (EG 5 minutes late = 5 mark penalty, 10 minutes late = 10 mark penalty)
  •  Cadets not in complete uniforms, but with a declaration (prior to fall-in) will be marked equivalent to half of the total value. Declarations must state which uniform piece(s) are deficient, date ordered, and be signed by the Supply O or Trg O.
  • Once the article has been received, the members total will be assessed with a 10% increment of the mark achieved;
  •  Cadets awaiting significant uniform parts, with a declaration, will wear appropriate civilian attire to include: collared shirt, dress pants/ khakis, dress shoes suitable for parading, hair to-standard. They will be assessed a mark out of a total of 25;
  •  Cadets not in uniform, without authorization, will be assessed a mark out of a total of 10.
At the end of each month (26 March & 30 April), with the assistance of Mr. Fred Coad, the WOs
will tally the uniform marks. One cadet from each flight and one cadet from Flag Party & Parade
Positions (combined) who have achieved the highest mark will be awarded a prize.

Questions can be directed to WO1 Rempel, WOII Overton or Lt Ocran.
