220 Red River Sqn is once again supporting the RCAF Run.
The RCAF Run will take place at 17 Wing Winnipeg (near building 90 on Whytewold Road) on Sunday 26 May 2013. There is NO parking (with the exception of bicycle parking) available at 17 Wing during the RCAF Run.
220 Sqn will meet at 0730 Sunday morning, at the nearest parking area, the St James Civic Centre on Ness Avenue - shuttles to the race area are available from there. That will allow us to report to Capt Hasselfield at the Volunteer Tent (near the starting line) NLT 0800 hours on Sunday morning.
Dress for the Cadets will be Uniforms (Tunic and Tie, shiny shoes etc.) because they will be the responsible for presenting medals to participants as they complete the RCAF Run. Therefore cadets will naturally be included in countless photos, and even a few videos, likely including those by the media.
Additionally, Cadets will be tasked to hand out water, cheer on runners, and work with other volunteers.
The RCAF Run will be over by noon and cadets will be free to return home at this time.
