(new date to be selected soon) 9 Feb 2014 from 2-5pm
Whether you work in politics or teaching, whether your audience is a crew of 5, a boardroom of 10 or an auditorium of hundreds, no matter the work you might do one day, you need to know how to present yourself, and how to make yourself heard.
That's why you want to be part of 220's Effective Speaking Competition!
Leslie Clark, a 220 parent who has more than 15 years' experience speaking publicly, will work with you and your fellow cadets to help you deliver a great speech and have fun doing it.
This is what you need to do:
- Go to the Air Cadet League website to choose your topic and get some advice about how to write a good speech.
- Tell Mrs. Clark your speech topic by last parade before Christmas, Dec 16.
- Write a good speech! (Yours should be ready by Jan 7.)
- Come to practices at 6:30pm on Jan 8, 15 and 29.
- Impress the judges on Feb 9! The winner of that competition will go on to represent 220 at the provincial competition on Feb 16, in Winnipeg.
Details regarding location of practices and the competitions will be posted as they come available.
