Our squadron Effective Speaking competition was rescheduled to Monday, 1 February 2016. Which is tomorrow evening, during Parade Night. Effective Speaking will start at 7 pm at Minto Armoury and will probably be completed in less than one hour.
Everyone is encouraged to participate as audience members as this helps the cadets prepare by providing them with an environment which more accurately represents what they will encounter at the the Provincial Effective Speaking event being held on Sunday, 13 February 2016 at 17 Wing.
The top cadet(s) from the Provincial event will participate in the National Effective Speaking Competition.
"Effective speaking requires the following things: well-formulated thought, understanding of language, strength of voice, and confidence of idea. Throughout life, your ability to convey your thoughts and feelings to others will determine how well you connect with the rest of humanity. As an Air Cadet, you have already started on a path that can lead higher than you can imagine. The necessity to be able to pass on what you’ve seen and done, to express your own life experience to others, is key."
Colonel Chris Hadfield Astronaut, former Air Cadet
