Fundraising Social Update

Our Fundraising Social, held on Saturday, 9 April 2016 was quite successful.

The Squadron Sponsoring Committee would like to thank all the businesses who so generously supported the squadron through donations for our silent auction, as well as all the parents who volunteered their time to organize and run the various activities that made up the evening. The Royal Canadian Legion, St James Branch No. 4 were excellent hosts, providing facilities and support for the evening. Kendall's Restaurant & Catering once again provided exceptional food service with a good selection of bread, sandwich meats, cheese’s and pickles.

While the financial numbers are still being finalized, at this point it appears that we were able to clear approximately $1,800 from the event. We estimate that there was, conservatively, between $4,000 and $5,000 in total silent auction prizes, which meant that all the winners received exceptional value for their ticket money.

Complete financial facts and figures will be presented at the next Parents Meeting, on Monday, 9 May 2016. Until then, I would like to Thank, again, everyone who contributed to the success of this fundraising event. This money allowed us to subsidize the Southport Tour and Overnight Trip completely. So the cadets who attended this very successful event, were able to do so without any financial burden at all. That makes me very proud of you all!
