I want to congratulate all the cadets for their excellent turnout, hard work and dedication in preparing for and then performing an exceptional Annual Ceremonial Review. I received many compliments from multiple different sources commending you on your drill, dress and deportment and excellent turnout. Have a great summer, whatever your plans are. You have earned a break.
Capt Dandurand has confirmed that the cadets have completed all their training, so the ACR was the last parade night of the cadet year. The first parade night of the new cadet year will be the 11th of September, the second Monday in September, as the first Monday is Labour Day.
The squadron phone (204-226-0139) will be manned all summer. In fact, you should see a posting from the Staff soon, with details on which of the sqn officers will be the summer contact this year. The Summer Contact for the squadron will be the point of contact between the RCSU (for updates to summer Cadet Training Center itineraries, new CTC offers for cadets, etc.), the cadets (leave, at or returning from Summer CTCs) and you, the parents. If you have questions or concerns about CTC etc. they will be glad to answer them for you.
Your Sqn Sponsoring Committee will be taking some time off too, but we will have several meetings through out the summer as we plan for the new cadet year, and a significant anniversary too! We’ll see you in Sept for the start of our squadrons 75th year of serving the youth of Winnipeg!
