Parents Meeting This Monday

The (last) monthly Parents Meeting will be Monday, 5 June 2017 at 8 pm (2000) and will end in time for us to all attend the CO's Parade, the last official “parade” before the Annual Ceremonial Review on Monday, 12 June 2017.

This is our last Parents Meeting for the cadet year and is a very important meeting. Please attend.

The Parents Meeting will cover recent activities, up-coming activities, briefly discuss Summer Training Center questions, and, most importantly  Executive Committee Elections.  Next year is 220 Red River Squadrons’ 75th year (since 27 November 1942) and we have lots of ideas and special events we would like to see happen in celebration of this achievement. To make next year truly successful, we are going to need lots of help. We want to use a Team approach where parents volunteer to work on one or two events, perhaps even  spearhead one of them, and allow us to spread the work around. The adage the “many hands make light work” definitely describes our intent.

Please look over some of the ideas we have for 75th Anniversary events, and figure out what area will suit you (or your family) best. We’d definitely like to have a good head start on volunteers for the entire year.

We have one position on the Executive that will require more of a commitment. Our fantastic treasurer Julie Bonderlique is looking to hand over those duties to a new member. To simplify the process, we are looking to elect a “Co-Treasurer” to work alongside Julie during the next cadet year (2017-2018) so they could be ready to step into the full time treasurer position the following year (2018-2019)
