When: Saturday November 11th at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Where: Cadets are to meet at the Assiniboine Gordon Inn (Big A) at 1975 Portage.
There is some parking available on site and some street parking but it will be busy and some streets may be blocked for the parade. Cadets/ Parade attendees will march from the Inn, down Portage Ave. to Bruce Park for the continuation of the ceremony. They will then march to the #4 St. James Legion at 1755... Portage where they can be picked up by parents at 12:00 pm.
Dress: Cadets are to be in full uniform (Blue Dress shirt, pants, boots, tunic, tie, wedge) along with either the blue cadet issued parka or a clean civilian parka as well as gloves and a touque. If your cadet does not yet have a uniform or is missing pieces such as boots, pants, tunic they should wear clean dress pants and shirt.
Important Notes:
* Cadets will be outside for the duration of the ceremony and parade with no where to go inside if they are cold so they must dress for the weather. At this time the high for Saturday is -2 with a windchill of -7 but as we know that will probably change.
* Cadets must eat breakfast before coming to the cermony. When cadets are on parade or outside for periods of time on and empty stomach it can become easier for them to feel ill or faint.
* It is imparative that parents are there to pick up their cadets on time. Too often we are having parents come to pick up their cadets 15-30 mins after the scheduled time and this is becoming an issue. So please be mindful of the timings and if you are unable to pick up your child there are parents within the sqn that can be contacted to set up carpools for such events.
* When picking up your child from this or any other event please notify one of the staff members so we can mark your child as being picked up.
