CTC Staff Cadet Correspondent Jobs

Cadet Training Center (CTC) Staff Cadet Correspondent:

Here's all the information you need to apply to be a Cadet Training Center Staff Cadet Correspondent this summer. Cadet Training Center Staff Cadet Correspondents are paid to assist Public Affairs Representatives for the summer, taking pictures and videos, attending and then writing about events, and generally documenting the vast array of Cadet activities, and the many different training environments experienced by cadets during at the Summer Cadet Training Centers across Canada!

This year, CTC Staff Cadet Correspondents will be pre-selected and trained prior to the summer. Applicants should have experience in photography, videography, social media and writing. CTC Staff Cadet Correspondents assist Unit Public Affairs Representatives (UPARs) to provide Public Affairs support during the summer. Applicants for a CTC Staff Cadet Correspondent position will also be considered for a Zone Cadet Correspondent position.

How to apply to be a CTC Staff Cadet Correspondent:

Step 1.
Submit an application in Fortress through your Corps/Squadron as a Staff Cadet at a CTC (Northwest Region only) with the position preference as "Cadet Correspondent". This is a requirement prior to moving on to step two. (Applicants must meet Staff Cadet Prerequisites as per “CATO 13-28 – Advanced Training – Staff Cadets”)

Step 2.
Submit a Video Resume stating who you are and experience in the cadet program as well as Writing/Photo/Video.

Step 3.
Submit 2 pictures with a story attached to each picture (minimum one paragraph). Each photo must be taken by you and can be a person, animal, object or place. Photos may be taken with a smartphone and the story should match the image depicted.

Step 4.
Upload files to a cloud storage service (Dropbox, Google Drive, Box.net, OneDrive etc.)

Send us an email to "NorthwestPublicAffairs@forces.gc.ca" and include "CTC Staff Cadet Correspondent" in subject line as well as a Cover letter in the body of the email with the link to the cloud service storage location.


Zone Cadet Correspondents:
During the regular training year, Cadet Correspondents provide Public Affairs support to local activities and assist the RCSU Northwest Public Affairs team. Applicants should have experience in photography, videography, social media and writing skills.
This submission process is not for a CTC Staff Cadet (at a summer CTC) Correspondent.

How to apply to be a Zone Cadet Correspondent (not at a CTC):

Stept 1.
Hold the minimum rank of PO2/SGT at your Corps/Squadron and be in your 3rd year as a cadet.

Step 2.
Submit a Video Resume stating who you are and experience in the cadet program as well as Writing/Photo/Video.
Video may be taken with a smartphone/computer and should have some basic editing to highlight your skills.

Step 3.
Submit 2 pictures with a story attached to each picture (minimum one paragraph). Each photo must be taken by you and can be a person, animal, object or place. Photos may be taken with a smartphone and the story should match the image depicted.

Step 4.
Upload files to a cloud storage service (Dropbox, Google Drive, Box.net, OneDrive etc.)

Step 5.
Send us an email to "NorthwestPublicAffairs@Forces.gc.ca".
