Parents and Friends of 220 Red River Air Cadets
You are cordially invited to attend our annual Squadron Effective Speaking Competition this Saturday, 24 February 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:30.
All 220 Squadron cadets, staff, volunteers, parents, siblings, and friends are all strongly encouraged to attend and support our cadets in this friendly event. You can have a positive impact on their performance by providing an interested audience for our cadets, both at the Sqn competition, and as preparation for the Provincial Effective Speaking Competition being held next month.
Our event is being hosted at the Winnipeg Conservatory of Music located at 1476 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3G 0W3. Please note that both entrances to the music school grounds are on the south side (east-bound lanes) of Portage Avenue. There is a small loop at the front entrance for quick drop offs, but the main parking lot is around the back of the building.
The Squadron Effective Speaking Competition is held primarily to provide a formal evaluation experience for team members, but also serves to determine the cadet(s) the Squadron will be presenting at the Manitoba Provincial Effective Speaking Competition on 18 March 2018.
Effective Speaking is an Optional Squadron activity open to all cadets of any level or age. The only requirement is an interest in improving your public speaking skills.
The Air Cadet League sponsors Effective Speaking competitions locally, at each Squadron, (regionally in some areas), Provincial and National levels
We look forward to seeing you there.
If you can, please respond to the Facebook Event so that we have a better idea of how much juice, coffee, dainties to prepare.
Thank you for you support of this important event as well as 220 Red River Air Cadet Squadron as a whole.
