M-SurVivAir Skills Day - Sat 7 Apr

220 Red River RCACS will be hosting a SurvivAir Skills Day (Mandatory Attendance) for the entire squadron at Camp Amisk (4350 Waverley St, La Salle, MB R0G 0A1) this Saturday, 7 April 2018 from 0945 hours until 1630 hours (945am - 430pm)

Cadets can be dropped off at Camp Amisk, Squirrel site at 9:45am and picked up by 4:30pm.

Bring lunch in disposable containers (not microwaveable) and snacks as there will be a lot of physical activity.

Backpacks are recommended to carry water bottle, lunch, and layered clothing.

Clothing: Keep an eye on the sky and dress for the weather. Cadets will be outside the entire day with no shelter at all. Plan accordingly.
It may be wet and muddy so rubber boots or hiking boots is a good idea, splash pants and waterproof coat as well. Extra pair of socks may be necessary.

SurVivAir Skills Day is about evaluating the cadets’ knowledge and skills for survival at the end of the training year. It’s based on the lessons and skills the cadets learned in their level programs.

The cadets are divided into teams of six to eight and will move from station-to-station, where they spend time demonstrating their skills. Each team will be led by a senior cadet who will report in to the directing staff using their radio communications skills as they move stations.
