National Camp Applications are Due in on Monday at the beginning of the parade night.
If you are applying for a National Course (Power, Glider, International Exchange, Advance Aero Space, Advance Aviation Technology - Airport Maintenance or Airport Operations) you must have your application turned into the office by Monday so it can be inputted into Fortress prior to 15 Jan.
Narratives and School Transcripts must also be received prior to 15 Jan for processing.
Additionally there are some significant changes in the board review selection process and cadets should be advised to carefully read and comply with the instructions, particularly the sections regarding the narrative and the appropriate documentation required to provide their academic standing. Significant points can be lost by not complying with the instructions provided.
The Cadet Selection Board Handbook can be found on the Air Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. website.
Please find below a snip it from the hand book ref these 2 items:
School Marks -
You must supply a photocopy of a complete Report card and or an authorized transcript of marks from your previous school year.
Narrative - Must be written by the cadet.
o One page typed narrative of why you would like to participate in the course applied for. This should include your interest in the course and how it will contribute to your future plans.
o The narrative should be formatted with double spaced lines and a 12 point business font.
o Plain white paper is preferred.
o Cadet's rank, given name, surname and Squadron number typed at the top of the page.
o The narrative must be signed at the bottom by the cadet.
o If you are applying for more than one National Summer Training Course, a narrative must be submitted for each course.
Please note: The narrative is a mandatory component of the application process. Applications that arrive without a narrative will lower your score and you may not be competitive amongst your peers in the process. If your course is paper boarded this narrative is very important, as we do not have the opportunity to meet you personally and we can only go by what your narrative shows us.
All Regional Camp applications should be turned into the office on Monday for processing in order to meet the time lines.
